1. S has a fantastic school trip to Ypres, I am full of admiration for the teachers who took a coach load of teenagers to Europe and back, in a day, on their day off (it was a Saturday).
2. I’ve eaten well this week, More Veg by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has already proved itself to be worth its weight in gold, as there are so many recipes in there which I want to cook and so far the ones I have cooked, they’ve mostly been absolutely delicious and if they weren’t absolutely delicious, they were still nice. I’ve also been cooking from The Art of the Larder this week, which so far has some pretty nice recipes too, the prosciutto pasta dish I had this week, well, I’m still thinking about it.
Autumn colour on the way home from the shops.
4. S is growing up so quickly before we know it she’ll be starting her GCSEs. I went to an event at her school this week about it and once again I was full of admiration about the teachers working so hard to make sure that the exams go smoothly. Although once again I was reminded how different my school days were compared to my kids. When I chose my GCSEs, I had a lot more flexibility in my choice.
5. I watched the Chris Packham documentary about Aspergers, which was really good. I grew up watching him on TV and seeing the struggles that he’s had makes me admire him even more.
